AJM design and fabricate a range of pressure or gravity sand and multimedia filters to suit a variety of applications. In wastewater applications sand filters are normally installed downstream of primary physical chemical treatment process such as EnviroDAF. Sand filters are designed primarily to remove traces of solids to allow water to be recycled or as a polishing stage prior to further treatment. Pressure filters are available in a range of sizes to suit flows up to 500KL'/hr and can be fabricated in mild steel, grade of stainless steel, fibreglass or plastic materials to ensure corrosion resistance in all cases. The media and down flow rates selected for each application is designed to maximise efficiency, and meet the specific performance targets. All AJM equipment is guaranteed. The
filter vessels are designed to suit pressures up to 1000Kpa with easy
accessibility to major components. |

The underdrain system is a simple yet highly effective arrangement of nozzles that ensures distribution of fluid through the entire bed thus minimising backwashing frequencies. As
with all media filters, backwashing is a necessary process to periodically
flush trapped contaminants from the filter bed. The back washing process
is fully automated by timers, pressure losses or both and usually uses
filtered water which can be retreated after clarification. The control
system and valving arrangement is designed and supplied by AJM as an integral
component of the media filters. |
