Plant operation and application: The purpose of the trials was to test the new HUBER-Manure Separator GS 1 for pig and cattle manure. Pig manure was tested in a farm at Fribertshofen where the HUBER-Manure Separator was fed from the manure storage tank. The second trials took place on a farm in Rudertshofen, testing stored manure from cattle. The
HUBER-Manure Separator could be operated fully automatically without the
need for operating staff. The results obtained were outstanding and significantly
better than current technologies. |

Adavantages
of the HUBER Manure Separator
The HUBER-Manure Separator GS 1 operates with a punched 0,35 mm sieve in the press zone, i.e. the spacing is only approx. 3 mm long so that fibers cannot slip through the fine sieve. Competitive models operate with typical 0,5 mm - 1,0 mm wedge wire but with spacing lengths of up to 40 mm (!) so that fibers are pushed through lengthwise, which results in poor filtrate quality. With the HUBER-Separator fibers (like straw, etc.) cannot pass into the filtrate. Either COD and BOD5 do not rise as no organic material is pressed through the sieve due to gentle pressure feed and sieve cleaning by means of brushes. Average reduction values ranged from 10 to 15 %. Competitive products, in contrast, even increase COD and BOD5 due to their special screening technique, which leads to increased costs for the biological treatment stage respectively makes it impossible to use other treatment methods, such as reverse osmosis. One
of the most important advantages of HUBER is completely maintenance-free
plant operation. Since the plant is made from 304 stainless steel, corrosion
is eliminated and wear reduced to nearly zero. |
